April Schneider is the Vice President of IT, Intellectual Property Management and General Counsel, for Sony Pictures Entertainment. With a rich history in Media & Entertainment, her expertise also extends to supporting television sales and distribution and optimizing the media supply chain. Prior to her tenure at Sony, April garnered invaluable experience in the consulting realm, having worked at Deloitte and Ernst & Young. She also made significant contributions to Strategy and IT within various financial services companies — hedge funds, investment management companies, mortgage companies and banks. A dynamic leader in Information Technology, April is known for her commitment to the community and driving meaningful change.
Beyond her professional endeavors, April dedicates her time as a Board Member of Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH), where she co-chairs the Community Engagement Committee. In this role, she spearheads initiatives that provide underrepresented individuals with access to career opportunities in technology through programs in mentorship, skill-building, and workforce readiness. She also serves on the National Board of the Girl Scouts of the USA and the Board of the University of Notre Dame, establishing an underrepresented minority mentorship program and is an Advisor for the university’s Women in Business Club. In all these influential roles, she advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the industry, particularly championing STEM education for girls and expanding pathways for women in technology. Recognizing the pivotal role of representation, April passionately works with several local non-profits to continue to dismantle barriers, exposing little girls to STEM fields, and inspiring the next generation of female technology leaders.
